Syndio Collaborates with EDGE Certification for Pay Equity Analysis with its PayEQ tool

SEATTLE / LONDON — May 22, 2023Syndio, the world’s leading workplace equity analytics platform, today announced a collaboration with EDGE certification for its flagship product, PayEQ. Now, Syndio customers can accelerate their own time to certification against world-respected EDGE standards to promote compliance with prospects, investors, and the global market.

EDGE, which stands for Equity, Diversity, and Gender Equality, is the leading global standard for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I), centered on a workplace gender and intersectional equity approach. It is adopted in over 55 countries already, by 250 large organisations, across 26 industry sectors; it is aligned with new EU legislation and widely quoted by ESG indices. To meet growing customer demand for multiple certification options, Syndio has undergone an independent validation on the compliance of its solution with EDGE Certification requirements over the past few months so that its customers can feel confident of their EDGE-compliant pay-equity analysis with Syndio’s PayEQ tool and can integrate the results into their own EDGE certification process.

Maria Colacurcio, Syndio CEO, commented: “With increasing legislation around the world focused on workplace and pay equity, companies need solutions that are trusted, compliant, and scalable. Open standard frameworks play a big role in this, and leading organisations have been pursuing EDGE Certification since it launched at the World Economic Forum in 2011. With this latest accreditation to our platform, Syndio customers can benefit from a pay equity analysis and consultancy offer that not only addresses inequity within their firm but also boosts their compliance with new EU legislation and multiple leading ESG indices.”

Aniela Unguresan, Founder of EDGE Certified Foundation, commented: “In today’s volatile labor market, companies need equitable compensation to strengthen their culture and drive better business outcomes. By using Syndio’s PayEQ tool to accelerate EDGE certification, they’ll be able to identify equity gaps, design roadmaps to close those gaps, and prove that they value their employees to investors, regulators, and themselves.”

The EDGE Standards offer a holistic framework against which organisations can measure their achievements on gender and intersectional equity. Attaining EDGE Certification is a positive and proactive step towards compliance with recent EU-related regulations, including:

  • Revised Swiss Gender Equality Act 2020
  • The Standard for Gender Parity in Italian Organisations published by Italian National Unification (UNI 125: 2022)
  • The Spanish Royal Decree on Gender Equality (Royal Decree 901 and 902 / 2020)
  • The EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), specifically ESRS S1

EDGE Certification also positively impacts a company’s score in multiple ESG-related indices, including the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI), and Equileap’s Gender Equality Scorecard.
