As part of the Violet Economy Law, covered employers are required to prepare equality plans to assess remuneration policies and practices, and analyze salary equity to identify gaps between men and women performing work of equal value.
While the law doesn’t specify exact metrics or reporting formats, it does require equality plans to be based on a thorough analysis. This means employers must carefully examine compensation data to find and correct any discriminatory practices. They also need to review their processes around sexual harassment, hiring, training, promotion, working conditions, and collective bargaining to ensure equality.
The equality plans must also include the strategies and practices to be adopted to address any deficiencies, as well as establish an effective system for monitoring and evaluating the objectives set.
