Portugal Gender Pay Gap Reporting: What You Need to Know

LAST MODIFIED: January 10, 2025

Portugal pay gap reporting

Portugal takes a novel approach to pay equity. Under Portugal’s Equal Pay Law (Law 60/2018), Portugal’s Ministry of Labor, Solidarity, and Social Security prepares a pay gap report for employers on an annual basis. Employers with 50+ employees then need to evaluate and address any inequities identified. As an EU Member State, Portugal’s pay gap reporting obligations will be modified by the EU Pay Transparency Directive.
