What is workplace equity?
Workplace equity means unlocking opportunities for every employee by treating them equitably and without bias at every stage of employment. Success in workplace equity is driven by two things: equal pay for equal work and equal access to opportunities. To get these right, companies must ensure they’re hiring, compensating, supporting, and advancing employees based on what they have to offer — not their identity.

Logo Usage
- Logo colors: At Syndio, we believe in the importance of diversity. Our color palette is a direct reference to that belief. We've created a "non-dominant" color palette in which we have five colors that are to be used equally throughout the brand. Our logo can be used in any of our five colors.
- Logos on light vs. dark backgrounds: All logo colors are accessible on dark or light; the only element that needs to reverse on a dark background is the word “Syndio.”
- Horizontal vs. vertical/stacked logos: Use horizontal logos vs. vertical/stacked depending on the available space.
- Buffer zone: Always make sure that Syndio’s logo has a buffer of space around equal to the size of one of the triangles within the logo

Chief Executive Officer
Maria is passionate about equitable workplaces — where everyone is valued for who they are and their contributions. Prior to Syndio, she co-founded Smartsheet.com, which went public in 2018, and spent three years at Starbucks, one of the first Fortune 50 companies to go public with pay equity results. Maria serves on the board of the nonprofit Fair Pay Workplace and has been named by Goldman Sachs Builders + Innovators Summit one of 2022’s 100 most intriguing entrepreneurs.
Milan Parikh

Milan has three decades of private and public company finance and operations experience, as well as expertise and passion for helping mission-driven, category-creating companies scale and grow. Prior to joining Syndio, Milan was Chief Financial Officer at MATRIXX, a global telecommunications software company. Over the course of his career, Milan has served as CFO at leading technology companies at various stages in the entertainment, wireless communications, digital media and enterprise software industries, managing over $400 million in public and private financings and M&A transactions.

Katie is one of the country's leading experts on the intersection of pay equity, data analytics, and labor economics. As Syndio's Chief Customer Officer, Katie possesses a decade of experience in compensation data, statistical analytics, and public speaking. Prior to her tenure at Syndio, Katie was the Vice President of Data Analytics at Payscale where she provided groundbreaking thought leadership and research on compensation to media, customers, consumers and research outlets all across the country.
Rob Porcarelli
Chief Legal Officer & Chief Strategy Officer
Rob is a career-long advocate for workplace fairness. Prior to joining Syndio, Rob served as the VP Assistant General Counsel at Starbucks where he led teams responsible for all labor, employment, and EEO issues, as well as general litigation.
Rebecca Scully
VP of Marketing
Rebecca has spent the last 10 years helping companies find, understand, and adopt technology solutions that use data, machine learning, and advanced analytics to solve strategic business challenges. At Syndio, she regularly leads research efforts across organizations to understand human capital management issues as they relate to workplace equity and how they can be solved through innovative approaches.
Christine Hendrickson
VP of Strategic Initiatives
With over a decade of experience in employment law, Christine works in the intersection of HR analytics and the law. She partners with employers to provide strategic, practical, cutting edge, real-world best practice advice on pay equity, diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics. Before joining Syndio, Christine was a Partner and co-Chair of the Pay Equity Group at Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Christine has been recognized by Legal 500 for the past three years as a Next Generation Lawyer for Workplace and Employment Counseling.
Chris Martin
Research Economist
Chris is a labor economist who focuses on issues of identity-based exclusion in the workplace. His original research has explored pay and opportunity gaps, the impact of salary history disclosure on job offers, and the link between employee engagement and compensation. Prior to joining Syndio, Chris was the resident statistician on the Inclusion & Diversity team at Starbucks. He is passionate about using data to identify and resolve workplace inequities and, as a former instructor in statistics and economics at various Seattle area universities, about communicating statistics in an accessible way.
Nancy Romanyshyn
Director of Pay Strategy & Partner Success
Nancy is a Fair Pay thought leader, speaker, and compensation expert. She has over 25 years of experience, both in-house and leading engagements. Nancy joined Syndio from Willis Towers Watson where she led their North America Fair Pay team and co-led the global fair pay program for 5+ years.
